CHEERS!
A uni project I did which involved creating a poster and billboard for my choice of beverage which was Coca Cola.
THE CONCEPT
Having a kind of retro, nostalgic, cinematic as well as collective sense for the photoshoot is the path I’m persuading. I’ve looked up various references from different platforms to seek inspirations, which type of products would be the best fit for the concept and the thought of those bottles of Coke came across my mind since I happened to spot them in one of the Japanese convenience stores long ago, they were kept cool in the fridge and I just couldn’t but to be captivated by its look since those bottles are barely seen on the market these days. They were absolutely appealing, reminiscently appealing so I thought to myself why not go for it despite having little to no personal connection with the product. It’s a bit irrational and excursive at this point, my sincere apologies. I’m expecting to have the bottles look refreshing, quite transparent and delightful. A warm tone is highly considered but I’m willing to try other possibilities and it would be great if I can create such a lively, immersive “environment set-up” for the shoot to make the viewers feel like they’re a part of the occasion, party and so on.
MOODBOARD
Collectiveness and liveliness are the general attributes that associate with Coca cola. The beverage is usually seen in such festive, active or even ordinary scenarios. I reckon a warm tone would be the best fit to go with it as well as the concept. Additionally, the color scheme from the movie “Fallen Angels” might also fit well with the concept if there’s not much of the green shade in it.
For the photoshoot, I’m going for close-up or even extreme close-up shot(s) of the bottle(s) since I want to captivate the transparency, highlights and shadows, the “freshness” of the product while two of my models are having a great time, talking and laughing hysterically or else in the background. Generally, it’s all about having a good time, it’s the Coca Cola spirit.
